The International Conference on Development Economics (ICDE) will take place from 3 to 4 July 2023 at the Paris School of Economics in Paris.

This edition follows the 2022 edition organised by CERDI in Clermont-Ferrand. We actively encourage the participation of junior scholars and scholars based in the Global South.

Plenary lectures will be given by Juliano Assunção (PUC-Rio), and Shilpa Aggarwal (Indian School of Business). A special session in the memory of Martin Ravallion will be chaired by François Bourguignon (PSE).

The 2023 ICDE  is also the 2nd annual conference of the French association of development economics (AFEDEV). AFEDEV federates researchers and practitioners in the field of development economics and promotes research in development economics in France.

The Paris School of Economics (PSE) is a community of nearly 150 researchers and 155 doctoral candidates. It was established in 2006 as a Foundation for Scientific Cooperation (Fondation de Coopération Scientifique) by the CNRS, the EHESS, the École des Ponts ParisTech, the École normale supérieure (ENS-PSL),the INRAE and the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

PSE conducts research and teaches economics courses at the highest international level. It actively encourages exchanges between economists and the other social scientists, it contributes to economic policy debates, and it makes its academic research accessible to a broader audience via dedicated programmes.
